There's a very huge gap between a "spanking" and a "beating". There's also a huge difference between discipline and a parent doing it out of personal frustration, because at that point it's just flat abuse and the parent blowing off steam. I think it's better to give them a whooping or something to scare them a bit because sometimes words aren't enough and then sometimes the child won't stop. (I'm sure parents/guardians are going to get tired from telling the child the same thing over and over) so from experience, I learned better through consequences than just chores and other thing...... 1 reply
