A lot of fudanshi's have been asking fujoshi's why we like yaoi. I'm wondering if you think we shouldn't.

I've always liked yaoi. Even before I knew what yaoi was I shipped. I'd like to blame shows like boy meets world, scrubs and all other depictions of perfect bromances for making me realize I enjoyed this but honestly I probably would have come to it without them anyway. I love gay romances in films and tv shows. It warms my heart that these stories are now being told so much more. As a black woman I know how necessary representation is. Seeing this makes me feel like the world is becoming a better place.

I think the LGBTQ community is wonderful and I have always considered myself an ally. Truthfully, I don't always know where and if I fit into it (I'm a 2 on the kinsey scale if anyone thinks it's relevant). The safe spaces that the gay community has formed always made me feel safe too (not to mention they can be so much fun, the gay pride parade is my summertime highlight and I love gay bars, dancing without being groped is a great feeling). So even if I'm not really welcome it's still something I'd want to protect.

Basically I'd much rather be a good ally than a consumer. So do you think preferring yaoi over shojo or yuri is wrong? Is it inherently damaging to the gay community? Should I stop? I'd like honest opinions so feel free to comment on anything I've said. Also I understand you guys won't be able to represent the entire community here so personal opinions are welcome.

"Are you a lesbian?" No offense to the lgbtq+ community but I hate that people around me kept on asking or insinuating that I am lesbian just because I dont have boyfriend (I'm 22 btw). That doesn't conclude that Im swinging the other way. And also Its not that I don't know my sexual orientation or because I dont know how to flirt BUT IT IS BECAUS......   2 reply

I have a fear of needles may it be a syringe or not. i start breathing heavily or try to grasp for air, sweat, cry and feel nauseous. People say i overreact but honestly, they don't understand how scary it is for me other than the fact that they see me fear for that. Even when i was at the point of death because of my allergy i was trying to escape......   1 reply

Same for me, BTS is the only group I unstanned. I was really a huge fan of them since I was in high school (now working) until their fandom became toxic, probably one of the worst out there. They kept on destroying other groups and was making fun of the demise of some artists. You see them everywhere, even in places that are not even related to the......   1 reply

Hi, i am 20, i start read it when i was 16, at first i heard it from my friend, she is a fujoshi too, at first i didn't really understand what's really good about it, but as the time goes i come to fond with it. The second group I stanned was BTS. They were really awesome back in "fire" era, though I have never been a part of the fandom. I went to their tours in Europe because I love them but I become disappointed with their last album and tour. As for me, it's was rushed. There were parts that looked exactly the same as their first concert (7 months befor......   1 reply

been stanning BTS since 2015. And i must say its the best decision I Made. Theyre one of those artist who have passion in writing and producing their own songs and can talk about it for hours of how much they want to share everything they want through music. Theyre not like most of kpop artist whose company would only give them songs then all they ......   reply

Same, mine is also BTS. Although it's not I fully not stan them, it's just that I'm not as head over heels for them now as I was before. Yeah, though I don't listen to all their songs, I know that their music changed recently. Their music is still good and I listen to them sometimes but I just prefer their old ones   reply
