I came out as bisexual and then officially came out to most of my family and extended family as lesbian and only exclusively dated women (2), however recently I've been questioning myself again

You can also count in celebrities and such, and I'm curious to hear if you see similarities between them and your type now

Mine were Luna of Hex Girls from ''Scooby Doo'', Roberta from Mexican telenovela "Rebelde'' and Rihanna... And, well, I'm still into girls with huge attitudes, sharp jaws and husky voices - and still into Rihanna (⌒▽⌒)

just because a couple isn’t hetero doesn't mean that people who read the story are fetishizing homosexuals. even if a gay or lesbian story includes smut or sex, it isn't 'fetishization' to read it. Fetishizing a sexual orientation is different from watching/reading smut.. if you compare real gay/lesbian people to the term "yaoi"/"yuri" or if someone sexualizes sexual orientation(s) then THAT is fetishization. an opposite gender reading gay erotica or lesbian erotica is no different from anyone reading straight erotica. In a way saying "reading lgbtq smut as a heterosexual is fetishization" really sounds somewhat like you're comparing and neglecting lgbtq+ representation. same with gay or lesbian porn, do you feel the same way if [lesbian] non-binary person gets turned on by "yaoi"? or if a [gay] non-binary person gets turned on by "yuri"? ..porn is porn. no one's "sexualizing" anyones sexual orientation, (some) people can get turned on by whatever. i can see how you find an opposite gender/sex reading LGBTQ smut uncomfortable but don't speak up for the whole community because in a way, it is LGBTQ representation. if a person ACTUALLY fetishizes and makes "yaoi" their whole personality then of course, that's not wanted representation and we as a community can all [insult/] educate them.

Look, I know most of the stuff on my list is romance and drama and things like that, but when it comes to real life situations... I have 0% interest. I really can't imagine being with another person, whether it be a girl, a boy, or any type. I've been thinking this way for a while now, but I want to make myself certain of my sexuality.

This is a genuine question from a bisexual person.

Context: I am a bisexual person and I have been for 5 years. I had help from some LGBTQ friends + people about my identity. I would say that I am rather skeptic about information on the Internet and social media, because of the rampant misinformation. Hence, I rely on the LGBTQ friends that I have. For years I have known that bisexuals means "being attracted to two genders." These were statements also said by all of my LGBTQ friends. Two weeks ago, I saw an Insta post that shows the difference between pansexual and bisexual. For bisexual, it said: "being attracted to two or more genders." Honestly, I don't understand and I need some help.

The prefix bi is a latin word that means "two, twice". Some words that have the bi as a prefix strictly mean "two." For example:
Biped=two feet, Biweekly=twice a week, bilingual= speaking two languages

Does that mean there are only two genders that exist? Of course not. That is why some people identify as pansexual. The prefix "pan" in pansexual is a greek word that means "all, of everything, involving all members".

A question of mine is that is there another word to describe people being attracted to numerous genders with certain exclusions? If there is a word for it, why do people apply that on bisexual? Is there a legitimate argument that can clarify this that is not "the prefix has changed overtime". I cannot understand why people would say this statement, because if the word "bi" (as in the prefix, not sexuality) has changed overtime, people would be saying that a bilingual person knows two or more languages or that biped has two or more feet. From an objective perspective, it doesn't make sense to change the meaning of the prefix for one word and not change the rest.

P.S This is not meant to hurt anyone. I am just really confused. Over the last couple of years, defining sexualities has become extremely confusing to the point that, for me, it is hard wether to know the information I consume is true or not. From the debate on gender dysphoria to gender fluidity, I am having a hard time catching up on all of it compared to people my age or younger.

Also, I apologize if I made any grammar or syntax mistakes.

when i was in 3rd grade, i had a gay friend from my town, he became really close to my family that he often sleeps in our house and would go to our family trips. our friendship last until 6th grade, his mom doesn't allow him to come by our house anymore and then we didnt talk to each other again. i loved him so much because he's better than my girl friends, he'd wear my clothes and we'd play barbies in my room, hes so adorable.
in 6th grade, my gay classmate wouldnt stop following me around, i didnt like being around him because his breath stinks so i genuinely told him about it, yeah he didnt take it seriously he even breathed on my nose on purpose. that moment was so funny and he became my bestfriend. we spend a lot of time together but our ways were separated when we became freshman :(( after that, i notice myself wanting to become friends with gay people. i like gay guys than straight guys because gay people tends to know how a girl feels, what a girl wants, and theyre aware of their hygiene, not to mention theyre funny asf. because of it i started to like them but im straight. im genuinely asking if this is okay, and i wonder what might be my sexuality is? if it helps ive date guys and once dated a girl but after her i stopped going to relationships because our relationship hurted me for a good 2 years and turns out she used me as an experiment if she was bi or not. also sorry for my english its not my first language feel free to correct me in the comments!!
