Most of the people who call themselves 'anime fans' have only watched big shounen anime or very recent anime. Not trying to be elitist or anything but i just don't relate to that. I’ve been in lots of fandoms and most of the ones I met there were pretty nice. but I stopped interacting with fandoms when i realized it’s getting toxic and overly cringy
