My mom told me that both her and my dad think that I’m a lesbian because all of my friends are in the LGBT+ community somehow or another. I’m straight and I feel like I’ve told her so many times. She says I’m obsessed with gay people and it’s like no... I just like RuPaul’s Drag Race sometimes!
Also, not sure if this is relevant but I live in a conservative household and I thought my mom was pretty accepting but the more I listen maybe not.
Am I wrong to feel a little insulted that she doesn’t believe me?
People grow up being taught many things by others. To follow your heart. To pursue your career. To cherish your family. But no matter what you do in life, you can't be too sure if that is the correct decision.

Freaking got out of my parents house when I had the chance. Around August my ex asked if I wanted to move in with him. Of course I do (I still do). But he doesn't have a good reputation with my family because of a stupid miscommunication back in 2012 and I was too worried about their reactions and if they'd persuade me not to do it or whatever. try your best but don't take your self too seriously. be responsible and reflect on your actions but don't let it stop you from doing what you want to do (within lawful and financial reason). also, save your money. 2 reply
Hm. It's hard to find universal advice, but (38 years), these are probably the top things I've noticed, that might be helpful:
