Hi! Here's my 2 cents: more than simply "loving yourself", life is about wholeheartedly embracing the parts of you that are unique and special, but working to improve on the parts of you that are a bit more rough and dark. Let me explain by painting you a portrait of my journey...... reply
I myself am disabled, and I've had a loving relationship for 7 years. My girlfriend loves me as I am. It does take some extra work sometimes, but it's not something that doesn't happen. Tbh I think anyone has the capability of falling in love with a disabled person, even if they were initially discriminatory towards us. Not all disabilities are vis...... reply
I'm going to be truthful here, but I probably wouldn't. I've never really dated anyone so I can't say for sure, thus why I put "probably". It's not a definite "no", but it's not a "yes" either.
The reason is probably not the disabled person themselves (for the most part), but how the relationship would even work. I'm not the type to go full ham-a...... reply
Stop leaving things to "fate". There's no such thing. Everything that happens, happens because of you and the choices you make. "If it's meant to be fate will bring us back together" NO STOP. If you love someone, if you want something, if you want to go somewhere work hard for it. It's not always going to work but you need to try to do something a...... 1 reply
Hm.. I'm 22, so not really that old. But still wanted to give in my 2c!
I'd say to someone younger that nothing is permanent.
I'm not saying to laugh tough things off, or say they arent a big deal, because thats just not true. But if I could tell my 15, or even 20 yr old self something. It'd be that no matter how hopeless a situation may feel, o...... reply
34 Years old here. My advice is... life is short and waits for no one. So even if you think on the future, don't just wait looking at your life happening. Enjoy the opportunities life brings to you and don't leave things for "later". If you have someone you hold dear, tell them. At my age you will probably have experienced already the loss of someo...... reply
My advice would be to never depend on anyone way too much. I depended too much on certain people and wish that I hadn't let my life revolve so much around them since it ended up damaging my mental and emotional well-being. People can change and surprise you. Keep an open heart and allow yourself to have friendships and romantic relationships, but l...... reply
On love: You will never find the right person. Such a creature does not exist. Romance eventually dies down and it's a natural progression. To expect that someone will love you on the same intense level from the day you met 'til the end of your days is like expecting the sun to never set. Such expectations on love has lead many people to leave per...... 2 reply
Honestly? I would like to be able say "yes of course". But I really don't know. I think that I'm really tolerant person and I never try to judge others by how they look or if they are ill or something.
It's just a situation where you really don't know, what would you do until you find yourself in the exact situation. reply
Look up stoicism.
Its not a religion but a philosophy that makes a lot of sense, for the most part.
Time is your most precious resource. Spend it wisely with people you care about and who genuinely care about you, doing things that matter to you or those you care about.
Find a a way to be alone without being lonely. This usually means being fine ...... 1 reply
