I personally like well written characters better, I barely give a fuck about a plot when the characters are shit tbh, I don't think much about it but it's also about the script that pulls me into the story.   reply

well written character. people underestimate how a trashy unseasoned character can quite literally ruin even the best plots. it is the characters who make the story, not the story that makes the character. example: mushoku tensei. i heard the plot is nice but why would i even watch that show when i know the mc is trash?   reply

I know you said we can't do both, but I do think technically good characters can help drive the plot more than vice-versa. Well-written and unique characters can often make any story enjoyable, even if the plot is simple. If the characters are too boring, basic, or lack any depth, I could probably care less if the plot was good or not.   reply

well written characters. but we also can't undermine the significance of a good plot, i say that bc i'm reading a manga where the plot excels in every aspect the only flaw is the way the characters are written, the mc is esp pathetic imo. i really dislike him, regardless the only reason i'm reading it is cuz i wanna know how it all works and happen......   reply

Character cuz the characters make the story I don't want to invest time into a story, no matter how good the plot is, if the characters are bad. Especially if the characters are boring like what's even the point   reply
