Hi!! Not the best solution but the way I stopped was by developing a chronic nail biting habit instead lol. It’s honestly also bad to bite your nails, but it was much better than self harm so it was a win in my book. reply
Some people already said other shggsstions but what helped me is making paper stars (search on tt for tutorial it's easy) every time I think of it. Makes my hand busy or sometimes I get clay or slime any thing I can stretch to ease my stress. reply
Im not sure how well this could work but maybe try biting yourself really hard? Idk where the urge of sh comes from or what release people get from it but im guessing it’s the act of inflicting pain on yourself. Rather than the skin maybe try your hair or like try destroying something like a notebook or journal? this is what i do so i really don't know if it would work for you, sorry... hope you'll be alright reply
A good thing to try is to have a hair tie or rubber band around your wrist and when you want to inflict pain to snap it against your skin, you still have a small pain sensation with none of the actual lasting harm.
