Well I can't say anything for anyone else, but at least for me; I have strong sense of reality. Rape in manga is not real and would hardly ever happen like that in real world. It's merely illustration by the author for the storyline. Same for cheating. Couldn't care less, it's just ink on paper and image in your head. Scary ones are those who can't...... 1 reply
Both are inexcusable, but I think the thing that bothers me personally the most is... hmm. Actually they both do. There is no way I can choose because no matter what, they both cause emotional distress/trauma.

Some people fetishize rape, others find excuses for it, some don't like it but just ignore it and keep on reading (because rape is everywhere), and so on. But cheating is probably more hated than rape because of the intention of the author. People seem to be qualifying that they're okay with rape in manga, but I don't think it's okay. Manga that involves rape often romanticizes the situation, but that's not real.
