Yes! And the author frames the story so that the audience will like the rapist and empathize with his situation. Usually, I see people rooting for the rapist's happiness or to be together with the mc. It's pretty fucked up that this type of plot device is normalized for there to be a development between the characters 1 reply
I'm writing this without really thinking and will probably get hate for it but here goes lol
For me personally, the way rape is portrayed in most yaois makes it so that it doesn't register in my head as rape (??) Like the way the mangakas portray the scenes doesn't make it look as serious and traumatizing as rape really is in reality.
