Any “destined lovers” or “someone was promised to a god/supernatural being.” I hate the fact that these characters don’t have a choice. One that comes to mind for me is Kamisama no uroku. Originally I thought it was cute, it on a reread a realized how unfair it was for MC. Basically, MC goes back to his hometown where he meets this weir...... reply

I do believe in manga the stories tend to be more poetic and nuanced, but I'd have to say I'm not a big fan of what the Japanese tend to celebrate in romance. After about 15 years of reading I noticed they as a culture have this odd way of writing toxic relationships and abuse (even the subtle ones where the love interest is simply selfish/only car...... 1 reply

Really not a hot take or anything, but every chance I get i will hate on Yours to Claim. It has the most indecisive, nasty ugly MC I've ever seen. The two MLs deserve a man 1000x better than him.
