Tbh I actually I don't know. Maybe it's because all the other female leads in the shoujo mangas irritate me, and I feel less angry reading bls. Of course, I'll read a shoujo if it's top notch, like "wow that was really good" typa thing. Idk I just find bls more exciting to read, I enjoy the genre. reply

Honestly, because the guys are hot lol. jkjk its because a lot of bl's are really interesting to read, as the plot is usually super dramatic lmao I read het stories too tho. The stories are good. BLs have floofy stories, dark stories, morally complex stories where characters hurt each other and there's no clear antagonist. The stories generally aren't really long which has turned me off of some shoujo (looking at you Skip Beat) and when they are long they're often well executed and the romantic tension remains taut (10...... 1 reply

i just dont like seeing how women are portrayed in manga, whether it be straight or not. it comes off too girly or sexual or helpless both storywise and visually. not to say bl doesnt have any of those tropes (often times its very obvious that the uke is written like a female character and just drawn with a male body). i just have a weird repulsion...... 4 reply
