I went to therapy for a short while for social anxiety so i have a few tips.
First give a good first impression, be friendly and talk to as many people as you can. It will be hard on the first day but it will make it easier in the long run.

Well knowing more about whatever culture/country you're going to be staying at will probably help a bit. If you know what their social norms are you'll know how to interact with them. It'll be okay. Just look at Viktor and Yuuri and know you'll be perfectly fine. 1 reply
Phew.
