I like most yaoi with a good plot, either it be exciting, funny, dramatic or even adventurous (Unless it's mostly smut then it's all for my pleasure). I have a long list of types of yaoi I like, but my favourites would be:
- Serious storyline with maybe drama added.
- Cute and fluffy stories
- Slice of life that has a beautiful even paced plot

The first thing i search for yaoi, is FLUFF.
Second, the plot. I can go along with any kind of plots if it's good, whether it's rape, normal, omegaverse, imprisonment, etc. As long as the plot is interesting and there's fluff, i will read them till the end.

Im into the darker spectrum of yaoi, Fluffy ones are also great but my tastes always lead me back to "the dark side" ;)

Beach (or Sea).
When I was a kid, I used to play on a beach a lot because my hometown has lots of beaches. But that one day traumatized me until now. If you don't specifically mean 'inapproriate' as yaoi, then yes I'm (pretty) sure they suspect.
I mean, my parents caught me reading porn manga when I was on 6th grade (tho in fact I've been reading since earlier than that), but it's just nude girls and stuffs (no sex).
