honestly it can both be fetishy or just a preference i am personally male (bisexual) so i cant speak for her but some of my female friends who also read bl are uncomfy with reading gl because they share they same sex as the characters. with bl they can just make it a separate thing from themselves yk? i think it really depends on the person and hon...... reply

honestly, i thinks it's way she worded it that made it sound crazier than it actually is. it definitely had some hate spewed into it but i think your friend is just fetishizing BL. In the case of your friend I think her wording was poor, and I think she needs to elaborate a bit more on that. Me personally I read mostly bls but gls from time to time, I'm bi and I also think some plots are forced in gls and I find myself relating to bl characters more than gl characters which is why I read it more.
