Uncomfortable vocabulary
Hello, am I the only one who's not comfortable with the terms "seme" and "uke" (or even worse, the "female role")? I won't deny that they make discussing the manga easier (cause I can't remember names since I'm dumb) but they still make me feel like I'm reducing a whole character only to whether he "takes it in the ass" or not.
Idk maybe it's stupid.
(Do they actually have some kind of interresting ethymology?)
I do dislike this because it ignores the roles of people who switch. As there are many different types of tops and bottoms i feel like 'seme' and 'uke' are much too restrictive labels.
'seme' is short for the verb 'semeru' which means 'to attack' in Japanese. 攻める・責める
whilst 'uke' or 'ukeru' means 'to receive' in Japanese. 受ける...... 2 reply
