75% of BL is just shoujo with boys
Like seriously. Most of the annoying tropes that people complain about in shoujo are present in so many BL manga. Also no one seems to complain about it. When the MC acts too girly and cries a lot it’s annoying but if the uke does it, it’s ok. When the ML is an asshole and takes advantage of the MC everyone hates him but when the seme does it, it’s ok. Honestly, I don’t understand the thought process of some of you guys and I’m starting to realize this goes beyond just shoujo and BL. You’re so quick to hate on female characters who have done nothing wrong because they’re “annoying” or “get in the way of your ship”. But when it’s a hot guy like Hisoka or something all logic ceases to exist.
oh ew that trope. I completely agree. I read 60% of yaoi, 30% of shounen ai and the other 10% is either action or comedy. I don't really see that many tropes but they do exist and in all honesty, if a uke is annoying then the uke is annoying and the same goes for the MC of a shounen. The seme part however, I don't think yaoi readers excuse that at ...... reply
