What was the reason you guys started to like Bl and yaoi

I watched yuri on ice when I was in the middle of grade 5, it was pretty popular because it was just out and then got into it. I didn't even knew that gay and stuffs were idk the word I guess weird? but for 11 years of my life I thought I was a boy but then heh puberty, so I didn't thought that gay and all was weird.
