do you you think it's a great representation ? i personally don't think so. i'll take a human example : Call me by your name. masterpiece for sure, but not a good representation: - Fetishism of gay sex - Both are straight but you know just... waiting for the right girl - Minor x Adult. not a good relationship tho.
I don't think yaoi is a good representation of mlm romances, but I do have to say as much ugly there is in the genre there is also a lot of good. I was raised in a very anti-lgbtq+ household, but stumbling into yaoi and yuri forced me to reevaluate the perspectives I grew up with.
I think shounen ai & shoujo ai are much better representation, but ...... reply
