Pls help pls help

Okay, so I accidentally let go one of our birds and now the bird is gone i was carelessly holding the bird and it flew away.. what am I suppose to do when my father asks about it.. omg guys im so scared im actually crying right now this also happend afew months ago.. my father asked why is the bird missing.. i was lying about when i had no idea where it went.. he also asked my cousin but it wasn’t him. After that he again asked me but more in a angry tone but i still lied. Luckily the bird came back a few days after.

Pls guys pls what do i do should i be honest or what? He wouldn’t believe me when i was lying tho, i dont want the same situation to happend again please you guys are my only answer im crying omg omg omg
