What was the reason you guys started to like Bl and yaoi

I was a pure bitch when I was like, 10 so when my friends asked me if I was straight or gay in school, I didn't know what they meant. So they told me what it was and I vaguely remembered that I had seen a anime reco that had 2 guys on the cover. Coincidently it was bl. Forgot which one it was.
