In high school, there's usually at least one person in every class like that. I was that kid in some classes. I wouldn't describe myself as a complete loner though because I never felt uncomfortable talking to classmates. It's just if I didn't have a friend in that class I wasn't motivated to talk unless it was for group projects or discussions. I'...... reply
