but whats your opinions on girls reading bl? i personally dont think theres a problem with it when you just read for entertainment etc, though i do find it weird/unsettling when some girls that do read bl will make it a whole personality trait and kinda fetishize any mlm they see (real life & fictional)

I'm a gay man, but I don't see any issue with girls reading BL! I only find offence when they (1) hold homophobic & transphobic views in real life, and (2) when they act condescending towards queer readers giving opinions on how male queer relationships are depicted in a specific work, just because BL is made by cishet women. As a gay man, I thought at first it was weird. But I realized that the way the relationship is described in a BL is pretty unique so I understand why girls like reading bl, sometimes it's so cute and wholesome and I've never found an equivalent for a heterosexual couple, even in shoujos. Theres literally nothing wrong with it, thats like basically saying people of the lgtbq shouldnt read straight stories or guys cant read gl... its dumb. but i do feel like if ANYBODY read bl or gl strictly for the smut scenes.. then yes you are fetishsizing. reply
