so i saw the "silence the white voices" tingy and understood that it was just half joking like not so serious and then i saw another qn where the op said that a non-black person wearing box braids is racist,im indian so never properly understood why a hairstyle had so much controversy behind it? can someone explain cause i didnt see any exploitation of cultural from my point of view,help!
I personally am not African rather Bengali, but from my African friends, I have learned that the reason why box braids are racist for non-blacks to wear is cause of its history and meaning.
