so i saw the "silence the white voices" tingy and understood that it was just half joking like not so serious and then i saw another qn where the op said that a non-black person wearing box braids is racist,im indian so never properly understood why a hairstyle had so much controversy behind it? can someone explain cause i didnt see any exploitation of cultural from my point of view,help!
I'm not black so I can't give my personal opinion or speak out. But my friend is and she has talked about this to me and shared her opinion. Box braids on an actual black person people have been called ghetto, unprofessional and etc... Yet when a white person does it they're called fashionable, nice, and etc... There's a big gap on how black people...... reply
