age appropriate yaoi
i was just reading a highs school yaoi with a few sex scenes and it was like any other yaoi ive ever read. and later in the story they mentioned that they were 15, and i felt super gross. im also still in highschool and im only 17 but it seems ive never considered that my FAVOURITE type of manga (high school romances) that may have sex scenes, are between minors. i felt pretty stupid lmao but also very gross. and next year when i turn 18 i probably should stop reading them or stick to shounen ai and shoujo.... what are your guys opinions on this??? does it matter?
I've been reading about teens having sex since I was a teenager, myself, and it's never bothered me.
I think, too, that it's hard to judge where a mangaka is coming from - because you never know if they could've been writing from their own experiences as a teenager who has had sex.

I read high school yaois and I'm 21. I think the thing about it is that most people who read yaoi don't read HS-themed yaoi BECAUSE they're in HS, it's because of the typical innocent and fluffy love that HS stories have. It'd be great if such innocent stories were also in adult-aged yaoi, but its pretty rare.

Honestly, this has never bothered me. Not when I was in high school, in my teens, and reading shoujo and not now when I'm thirty, a working adult and read multiple genres.
