A question I occasionally ask myself. All I know for sure is: 1. Despite being straight I am not interested in straight romance 2. This might sound ridiculous but in both fiction and irl I'm easily jealous of the girl who receives the attention and affection of the guy I like, with yaoi those feelings aren’t there because there isn’t a female t......   reply

Sometimes their stories are more realistic than shoujo or the typical romance stories. Romance in real life has a mixture of drama, work, family, intercourse, and etc. In which most yaoi stories do have. This is what makes it realistic and relatable. Yaoi has A LOT of heartache story plots that I love. A story that can make you cry as if you feel w......   reply

I’m aromantic ace. I can only feel love and lust when I read about it. It makes me feel like I can sorta feel it too, as long as there’s another element I’m familiar with. Also, for some reason, if I myself show up in the fantasy it’s a complete turn off. Since I’m female, I find it less likely for me to insert myself if only guys are inv......   reply

I like it because of the art styles, experiences, emotions, etc. its fun growing connected to these story lines, making predictions, and getting a feel for the author at hand. You can (sometimes lmao) find something really beautiful in these stories. I don't know. I just love romantics and the tenderness of it evokes so many emotions (that I usual......   reply

So thus began my descent into bl. I began to read......   1 reply

I'm gonna be completely honest here. I have two reasons: 1) When it comes to the more intimate scenes such as heavy kissing and having sex, these scenes somehow made my ovaries tingle. It was a weird feeling but I didn't mind it because it felt good. 2) I like seeing the tough guy be dominated by a tougher guy.   reply

For me it's entertaning and interesting since it's a situation I'll never be able to experience, being a woman and all. Isn't it the same facination that some men have towards two girls or why some straight guys read Yuri? I've also noticed that most shoju focus on drama in private life/school life with little to no action and I have enough of that......   reply
