How do you feel about Yaoi & the misrepresentation of LGBT community in media?
Hi, I'd love to hear thoughts on this statement: "Hey fun fact! Fetishizing gay men is disgusting and if you’re a fujoshi/ yaoi fan you should stop and realize you’re not representing or helping mlm correctly by posting your “uwu trash sinful gaybies otp” and only harms the community". I know this kind of topic has already been asked again, & again. I don't mean to start a shit storm cuz I know that can get ugly quick but, Im often really unsure where I stand on this. I'd really appreciate hearing other viewpoints.
In my opinion, it's not that it's written by women for women, but rather because of the very fact that it's written for entertainment purposes, and not to reflect reality that it's incredibly unrealistic. Japanese people make manga for Japanese people to read, and yet we still get unrealistic school-life harems filled with yanderes, extreme tsunder...... reply
