makes you fucking weird. ive seen people just have random kanji/japanese words in their usernames when they arent even japanese/speak it. people also really love to make it seem to like making asian food apart of their aesthetic. like i get it pink drinks are cute and all but its kinda weird making your whole life out of the idea of japan and their culture??? also i know/seen people who just have a thing for asian women. i know a 40 smthing yr old irl who hits on my aunt and mother who are MARRIED because theyre chinese. art of asian character can also enforce stereotypes like any good performative representation but we arent gonna talk abt that.
I agree with calling a piece of culture like a food or the culture itself an aesthetic is really cringe and wrong to do. definitely making your whole life out of it is concerning and very not appreciated. liking cutely made sweets or bentos that happen to be mostly created by japanese people is totally ok, but there's a difference between saying "i...... reply
