Confirmed lesbian. Spent much of my youth scared and trying not to be a lesbian. If there was the slightest chance I wasn't I'd have found it.

I'm bi but I always wondered what makes me more into yaoi than yuri...
I recently thought that the answer is that yaoi has more of a history and culture around it and yuri is sometimes too.... dramatic..? Like, the ones written by women I mean. Or maybe I just have higher standards with stories with women in them..

Nah you aren't alone, some of my friends and I like BL since it isn't for the male demographic it is for females so it's usually more appealing since they are written by women who know what women want so it is far more appealing. To me shojo ai is great but the yuri just isn't very good since they aren't really targeted to lesbians they are targete...... reply
