"blackwashing"
I didn't really know what "black-washing" was until I came across a video of someone making Senku have a darker skin tone with Afrocentric features, As a Black person (from the Caribbean) im confused on the reason for that? My stance on this is shaky, and I would really like if you guys would share ur opinion on it.
I think it's just kind of weird to blackwash or queerwash or otherwash characters that have already been established.
However, the constructive critisism is very important so an author can adapt their style for their next creation.
So yeah. The concept is a bit cringe, but the thought behind it is valid and should be considered for future works. reply
