This is just for me, but murder feels a lot less personal and disgusting than rape / pedophilia. Murder in fiction is often done against extras, random side characters, or villains so it feels almost casual. And even when they do murder characters that we know / are close to, it's more upsetting because we knew that character and not because of the...... 1 reply
