Does anyone else wonder why GL is so less popular than BL?
Even on here, 228 pages of the yaoi genre and only 48 pages for the yuri genre. And that doesnt even count for the amount of GLs that are tagged wrong and feature no WLW couples, plots, or even characters. Like damn i click on a comic tagged yuri and its actually a story of 2 girls fighting over 1 guy I AM NOT INTERESTED!!!
As a lesbian, GL stories just aren't as interesting. I'd read it more if it was more mafia bosses and the dark psychological plots you can find in yaoi. there are a few like that but i think it's the outlier. i think women are also just the main consumers of romance manga in general whereas men would just rather nut to porn and don't really care ab...... 1 reply
Because it is not profitable in a market flooded with fujoshi, yet trends come and go, and perhaps in the near future, gls and baihe will have greater visibility. Even in Baihe, we can count the number of good English-translated novels only on our fingers. I understand the sentiments. I do have thoughts about the reasons, and they are by no means the most-informed and accurate answers.

Probably because bl as a whole is more popular.
Romance is catered towards women and among women bl is more popular than gl.
