I can never understand how kids can just ask their parents for something?
Like I honestly feel so guilty when I ask for something from my parents like I really do try my hardest not to ask for anything whatever it be christmas or my birthday I usually just say I don't want anything but some times i actually need something like gum or a toothbrush but I always feel like it's a burden and I'm wasting their money on me like fr how do you guys do it?
i think it depends on financial aspects too. if my parents were rich i wouldnt care about asking for something, for gifting occasions its kinda default my parents will give me chocolates and if they ask i tell them some mid range cost chocolates, whereas my brother asks for shitload of things. reply

i only ask my parents for things that are actually important not for things that i personally want cause i can buy them myself but if its something important i don't mind asking tbh and i don't feel like a burden cause i mean they are my parents so they wouldn't mind spending money on me i guess?? reply
Honestly for me it depends on your parent's financial status and personality. My parents are pretty easy to talk to since their thinking is if they can afford it then why not? There's honestly too many aspects that can go into account but in my opinion that's all just for wants if it's needs you shouldn't be too scared or shy to ask for it since th...... reply
wtf aren’t those (toothbrush) basic needs that’s fine to ask but honestly I gave up (stopped caring) on asking for christmas or birthday presents and it’s 7years since I’ve received anything from my parents on these occasions reply
I thought I was going to relate to this post until I read a whole thing I get the guilt but if its something you NEED then why would you feel guilty, parents are supposed to provide needs to help you live or get better as a person reply
