Manhwa kinda sucks

Is it just me or do BL Manhwas just not hit the same as Mangas? I'm always on the hunt for a story that makes my heart flutter and makes me all giddy. But I feel like Manhwa rarely scratches the itch. With old BL Manga it was either dog garbage or a masterpiece. Nowadays the popular stuff is almost exlusively BL Manhwa whose only selling point is the excessive smut.
Don't get me wrong, I've read fantastic manhwam but I feel like majority is just mid. They're also so fucking long, hence they usually drag. I don't mind slow burn, but if I barely root for the couple cause there's no tension I won't put up with170+ chapters.

Please yall tell me its not just me feeling this way
