Why is BL everyone’s favorite genre
I understand this is a site supposedly mainly focused around BL and ‘yaoi’, but it’s just so annoying how most BL readers refuse to read other genres and then go and say any BL story is better than a good shoujo or action. Don’t even get me started on how much SOME<—— (keyword some) of these BL supremacists are just so blatantly misogynistic. (In all fairness you barely see this anymore but trust me there are still a couple of them lurking about) It’s so sad how BL is the most favored among manhwa and manga enthusiasts because it completely overshadows GL and other amazing genres and creates some of the most annoying people of all time. There will always be the good and the bad in every genre but why do BL fans believe that theres just no bad in BL it just makes me seethe with rage, mald even

As a gay person myself, I don't think that BL is more popular than straight romance. I mean it's probably more popular on this site, but overall? No. We barely get any gay rep in media so most of us are basically scouring for content lol.
I also get how most BL fans, despite being women, can be misogynistic. That is something I really don't get b...... reply

I agree that the BL, yaoi community have a greater presence than other communities, in fact people are even incentivized to create gay content (Thai actors); but that's because 1) the genre has been acknowledge by the industry, 2) BL possesses infamy and fame.
But like any genre, BL and yaoi have their audiences. And any audience will always have...... reply
Right and most BL's or Yaoi that most people read (like the very popular ones) are usually problematic with SA or abuse. I read anything that's on featured manga just to rate it, but I'm usually never pleased... if anyone has good GL or BxG recommendations that would be very much appreciated I keep coming across ones that are written by men who...... reply
