reading bl is so exhausting for a number of reasons (at least for me) and yes it is not a representation of the community itself so it's honestly fucking disgusting when some would equate it to reality. it's also horrifying that individuals who are self-proclaimed homophobic would admit with their whole chest that they fetishize gay men and it makes me sick. plus the underlying misogynistic theme of a lot of bl titles
i don't really like the noncon aspects of it (it's called boys love not boys rape), but sometimes you can find the good bls that have character arcs and development, and actual plot outside the main couple. that's honestly what got me into bl, because i was searching for representation of the community, but unfortunately there's just a lot of gross...... reply
