reading bl is so exhausting for a number of reasons (at least for me) and yes it is not a representation of the community itself so it's honestly fucking disgusting when some would equate it to reality. it's also horrifying that individuals who are self-proclaimed homophobic would admit with their whole chest that they fetishize gay men and it makes me sick. plus the underlying misogynistic theme of a lot of bl titles
If it disgusts you so much, then what are you doing on this site, anyway? If it doesn't appeal to you, then it doesn't appeal to you, but I'd encourage you to read more BL to get a better picture and broader scope of the many different types of stories in the genre.
