Dont yaoi readers get tired of sex scenes
I’ve been reading yaoi for 9 years by now and frankly I’m dead tired of seeing two dudes fucking most of the story instead of actual romantic development. I honestly don’t have anything against sex scenes it’s just kind of frustrating when I think I’m diving into a good story and all of a sudden I’m jump scared with 3 consecutive chapters of a dick slapping into some dudes asshole and not having any actual progress in the story. Seeing as this is still present in a lot of recent popular yaoi I wonder if anyone else feels this way. Of course I know there’s yaoi that isn’t like this but I’ve definitely feel like the majority of yaoi follows this format… and don’t tell me to “just read shounen ai” trust me, I tried
I agree with you, after a while the smut just lacks passion, it's either too much plot with little to no intimate scenes or way too much smut with no proper plot or its rushed and then shounen ai lacks smut (I know smut's not the point of shounen ai!!), but you're so invested in a shounen ai couple and don't get see them be intimate!. rather than being tired of seeing the scene... im more just burnt out by authors using it as a plot device to drive the characters closer together instead of actually trying to write a good engaging romance. reply
So much this!!! I have scrolled through many sex scenes in stuff I've read. I was wondering if I was the only one who felt that way lol I do still prefer yaoi sometimes though, because I do appreciate some explicit scenes over none at all. Deadass I don’t rlly care, I’ll read a yaoi for the smut entirely, I’d read BL If I didn’t wanna see it. My fav yaoi’s tho are def ones that have plot + porn but the smut is deadass so interesting.. like to a point I really wanna know what the author is using as reference material (shut line and under the green light are great examples) 1 reply

That's one of the main reasons I stopped reading yaoi manhwas entirely. I only have like maybe 5 I actively follow rn. The rest are manhuas or mangas. reply

my interest in sex scenes has a lot to do with how it's executed. many comics tend to make sex scenes look like a one-time fuck with absolutely no chemistry or feelings even when the characters are actually dating and it puts me off. when a sex scene is made with actual sensuality and emotion in mind, it feels way less tiring and doesn't make me wa...... reply
When im in mood for some romantic developments, i would go for shoujo. Just pure kind of love. Always remind me of my old school days with my husband lol. And would jump back in to yaoi when im in mood for something smuty. When I'm bored with all that, i would then jump to novels. reply
