Always a terrible feeling when your parent cries abt something related to you, but just remember that sometimes they're not crying BECAUSE of you but because of what they're doing TO you or about whats happening to you. So like... I applied to this ambassador program that required us to film a video and post it on social media (there's a form, they'll view it even if it has 0 views). If you pique their interest, you move on to the interview stage. A lot of my peers applied to it as well because this is a REALLY BIG opportunity and got into the interview stage. So far it's been a week and I haven't received an email yet. All of my friends have seen it. Organization members, acquaintances, etc. Some of them have asked if I have an interview slot yet. Idk what to reply because I feel like I won't receive a slot at all. I feel so stupid and ashamed, I worked on that video for around 80 hrs and sacrificed a lot to finish my application.
I feel pretty dejected about it, any advice on how to deal with the emotions it comes with + other people's expectations?
I feel like a huge chunk of the readers I see on comment sections these days no longer understand the difference of 'slow burn' and being dragged out. I've seen so many good slow burns already being shat on because they don't fuck fast enough or get together fast enough. Just because the plot doesn't get finished in 5 chapters doesn't mean it's 'dragged out' Patricia. This is also why a lot of stories these days prioritize quick dopamine boosts instead of actual fully fleshed plots, a lot of y'all dgaf anymore.
(PS, not saying everyone is like this, I've just seen them more and more in recent times)

Bit of backstory, I had this guy who's liked me for yrs, at some point he even stalked me home, waited for me in the streets etc, basically it was bad and I was traumatized af but I was young, dumb and honestly still am very patient with people so I forgave him and left him as a friend (kinda) , I've also rejected him 2x and never have him room for any wrong ideas bc I don't chat or hang with him alone. Anyways it's been a problem for me since way before bc he'd constantly start partaking in stuff I'm interested in that I value LOTS (Im one of those ppl who just can't stand it when others pretend they like something when in reality they're just doing it for attention esp something I love) fandoms, communities, etc. idk. Need some opinions rn, possibly other experiences or just something to ground me in general.
