Opinion on rival ukes?
What do you guys think about love rivals for the uke, like uke characters who are interested in the main seme and act as hurdles for the main seme. Personally speaking, i HATE them because they're just a gender swapped yaoi version of the very regressive very annoying female love ribal characters from shoujo/josie where they usually fight for a man which is so annoying. This women fighting for a man trope evolved into two bottoms fighting for a top which really exemplifies how much BL has become a heteronormative industry I really don't want this annoying trope to follow into BL so I drop any BL which has this trope
I hate rival characters in general but I like rival ukes WAY MORE than rival semes because I just like ukes and they're usually way prettier than semes. After a certain point they usually get their own relationship anyway so they become tolerable. And then they become friends with the main uke (like in shoujo manga lol), at which point I just start...... 1 reply
