optimal amount of love interests??

1 love interest, only 1 love interest please. Is it that much to ask for ? Friends can help the MC out too they don't have to suffer an unrequited love to have a reason to protect or want to help the MC And they almost never get over the MC by the end of the story. I think it is possible. Even irl it happens just think of kings/sultan and their concubines. Of course some are there for power but I'm 100% sure some ends up loving the man nv they delude themselves to be the one they truly love. Or fans stans of idols (not all of course) but in general you see multiple people developer crush and in extreme toxic ......   reply
