How would you describe the word tourism?

Guys it's kind of irrelevant but would you mind help me with something? You see I have an essay about tourism and the professor asked us to find definitions from another countries so I was wondering if you could kindly tell me in your own words what is tourism, how would you describe tourism... No need for many words and plz if you answer write your name/nickname and the country you are from so I can add that to my essay too... I would really appreciate your help
