cringe culture
does anyone else feel like the internet has becoming boring as hell? i feel like ever since cringe culture has become a thing i am seeing less and less new/fun things pop up on the internet. everything that is deemed slightly “weird” is relentlessly bullied and eventually taken off. i think if cringe culture never became a thing more people would post fun things and creativity would flourish bc the fear of being ridiculed would be gone. everything feels like slop now
Another thing is children being ridiculed for being children... Like for example i see some innocent kid on YouTube saying they like a childish show or something. Then people are like "that shows terrible, i like ___ more" "what are you a child?" ect. People on the internet really just hate children in general, that's not really what I had to go th...... 1 reply
"Cringe" has become an excuse for bullying.
Not only does it take away the fun people have living their lives in their silly weird ways LIKE EVERYONE DOES, IT'S WHAT MAKES US FUN.
It also targets disabled and neurodivergent people significantly more. Most "weird" things we see on the internet are "abnormal" behaviors that NDs display. It's not that...... 3 reply
ugh yes we're literally tiny specks in the universe i swear those who call others cringe for being silly and having fun are the most insufferable people to be around. surprise, they're living their best life and no one fucking likes you so for your own sake stop wallowing in bitterness 1 reply
The internet? Boring? I get to see Trump x Biden fanfiction on my feed daily. Cringe culture is nothing new, the term is new, but being called weird is not. But we get to live in a world where the word queer is reclaimed with a positive connotation and gay marriage is increasingly accepted. People get paid to make furry art and sell their feet pics...... 1 reply
I take the “cringe” insults and say “ok and?” Like bro cmon if you’re gonna try to belittle me due to your own insecurities, AT LEAST be creative.
FR tho life is too short to worry that your own interests are deemed “cringe” by others. As long as you’re not harming others, do as Rihanna says and “live your life” 1 reply
You're on the wrong side of it. So what if something is deemed cringe? Dive into it headfirst and you'll see that it's really not as boring as you thought.
Creativity is not dead, it's far from it. Sadly, you'll have to look long and hard for it though 1 reply
People who perpetrate cring culture yearn for a strange need to be 'normal' and this sense of 'normalcy' is kept in place by making people who don't comply with it an 'other'.
That's the whole point.
Cringe culture is dead. Enjoy your life and have genuine interests because one day, cringe culture itself may not exist, but the passion you have for ...... 1 reply
