are female leads just not any good?

I saw a discussion from here about a person who said they can't read female lead manga/webtoons anymore because the female lead was the same as everyone else/boring/annoying/conveniently uneventful and I think they're right. But it's not just that. I realize that it's extremely rare to find a plot where the lead just doesn't rely on a man or have a love interest to further develop her character. There are barely any stories NOT involving a man. and I don't want to be the type to be like "she doesn't need a man !!!!" type of girl HOWEVER recently I read an video game type webtoon and I was happy that there was finally one to read where she could level up and stuff but she needed to rely on a man and the entire thing was centered on that man and it really disappointed me. I wish there were more stories in general with strong female leads and no romance. like there are with male lead stories.
