Is yaoi (and other anime related content) a part of your social life?
Do your friends know or like yaoi as well? Are people at your school or college/uni aware that you like yaoi and/or other anime related things?
While I do have a small group of friends who like anime related things on campus.. Most of my college friends are unaware of my nerdy past times. The majority of people in my social group include: athletes, those in fraternities and sororities, and people who are generally overly involved in campus life (I know kids who are president of several clubs).
Just need to know since it can get a little lonely at times (haha)
None of my friend even watch anime, I'm pretty sure they don't even know what yaoi means.
I'm too afraid to tell my best friend about this as she is disgusted with gay relationships... I even have to fake my reactions at times when we are talking about gays as our views are different.
Its is kinda lonely as I cant share all these awesome mangas wit...... 1 reply
It's not as great of a part in my social life as I wish it could be. I travel a lot, so maintaining friendships like that on its own is troublesome... But I do wish to have more friends who knew/liked Yaoi. My family doesn't know, so my only outlet with other Yaoi lovers is this page. Lonesome, huh. reply
Pretty sure they all know. I get really enthusiastic about stuff so when I've been shown yaoi the freaking bells rang in my head, door opend, IN OMNIA PARATUS and I had to share it with my friends. If they wanted it or not. But they are used to me, some of them even read a couple of them, in the end just said it's not really for them. But the thing...... reply
Nope, they had no idea that I'm into yaoi.
They knew I was into manga and anime.
But these days, I rarely read or watch in front of them.

My parents know I'm into animeai and Manga, and sort of judge me for that, but whatever... About my friends some of them are so intolerate about otakus that I don't have the coragem to tell them I even watch anime, even though sometimes I think they do know, we are just pretending it's a secret.
