mischaracterization in fics
ever read a fic but a character or like multiple characters were completely ooc and it made u feel annoyed or feel mental anguish
im currently reading a fic with a sex scene and the mischaracterization in it scene was so bad i started shouting "my goat would never do this" like usually im fine with ooc bc everyone has their own interpretations of characters but even then you can at least get one thing right abt their personality
So many times. The worst is when that characterization becomes widely accepted fanon and it shows up everywhere. Even though the canon character is not actually Like That reply
honestly, it doesn't bother me much. there's a lot of ooc interpretations that i really like, even if it twists the character.
if i don't like it, i don't read it.
sadly, there's always someone who's going to turn my fave into a nightmarish leech-infested personified scumbag, or else they'll get turned into a meow meow little bitch boy.

I also tend to dislike it. I love reading fanfics because many times I want more material of the same characters interacting, it kind of takes you out of it when they act out of character reply

I think the fanfic authors just didn’t know how to write characters where part of their main character trait is being smart and clever constantly and not just during “witty banter”

It's very common tbh, I've experienced this a lot of times. Although I don't usually mind it, there are times when it annoys me so bad. Most of the fanon of haikyuu characters actually make me want to throw my phone on the wall #－.－)
