Age gap discourse is getting out of hand

I’m only 20 so maybe I’m just dumb af with my little kid brain according to some ppl, but bro. The amount of ppl going crazy over any difference in age is insane. Especially hyper focusing in the twenties. People are saying anyone below 25 is a child essentially. A common argument is the frontal lobe thing, but that was proven to be a myth. Most science (or what I’ve read at least) says at 18-20 people are basically physically and mentally adults. They lack experience and wisdom, yes, but nothing about them physically makes them different.

I agree that people roaming around only wanting super young people is gross and weird, or if they’re only attracted to somebody because of their age. But other than that, if you’re just chilling and like “oh yeah, I’m attracted to every age tbh. Idc about age, just if I feel physical or romantic attraction” I don’t think that’s wrong?? Because it’s just natural and organic.

Unless somebody is below 18, idgaf and I don’t think it’s morally wrong. Some people use the whole “if they could go lower they would” and while I do think there are people who would do that, I don’t think that’s the case for everybody?? I know to me, below 18 is morally AND legally wrong because research has shown that teenagers are…well excuse me, but….dumb af. Naive af. The HPG axis is dictating everything at that point bro

But, I understand trepidation around big age gaps, especially if someone is 18/19 or early twenties. I do understand. I can see why some think it’s weird or question it. But when it comes to barely an age gap, like, both are in their twenties or not even 6 years apart, the amount of people saying it’s predatory and disgusting is insane

“25 and 21 is a sus age gap. Why are they dating a 21 year old?” Maybe because 21 is only 4 years younger…and not really an age gap… maybe bc they both are actually pretty close in age? Maybe the older just likes them, whether that be for something casual or serious?? They can both drink for fucks sake (in America at least)
