What is up with peoples obsession with fast paced books in terms of romance?
I've been reading some plot heavy bl's recently and when i go to the comments, usually to see everyones feelings on the current chapters and the events within them, I see people complaining about no kissing yet or no intercourse yet when the stories are obviously set up to be a slow burn or extremely plot heavy. Some examples of this would be 'Little Mushroom', 'turning', and 'Choose Your Heroes Carefully'. These are books that i personally think are focused on the plot and are slowburns for the most part but alot of times i'll see people in the comments trying to rush the romance just because they've seen tension between the ml and the mc. Does anyone else find it weird?
A part of me wants to say it's because they have had their attention span destroyed by short form content and split videos with subway surfer shit at the bottom
Or that they're too used to literature (including comics) that provides instant gratification and doesn't require for them to engage their brains or have patience in any significat way

Realll, honestly I love slow burn more than anything so the longer it takes for the characters to get together, the better, but these porn addicts are destroying everything and now story’s that have some potential are just super rushed and boring. For example, The Hounds of Sisyphus. The story is good, but the mc fell in love wayyy to early so it...... 1 reply
It's frustrating asf ngl. Like, even 20 chapters is not slow burn let alone 10 chapters which some people are calling too slow...
I know people want to see the charas "get to it", but if it's just that you're looking for, there's plenty other webtoons that are quick to go for it.
