Anyone doing a PhD in Europe?
Hiii, I was wondering how it has been your experience so far. On my side I have nothing but complains and I am seriously considering quitting, main reasons being 1) I am not being paid and none of my peers are -few exceptions being the ones getting a scholarship; and 2) I am doing it long distance which feels like a scam honestly (Spain/Italy). However, if I think about job opportunities (I have a background in humanities) it feels like it'd be hell to find something in line with what I studied, or even close to it... Share your experiences with me, I am curious to know what it is like in other countries in Europe and other people's honest perspectives!
I already finished mine (economics, did it in Sweden). It was hard, but I am glad I did it. I was being paid for the whole duration of it, and I got into teaching early on so by the time I finished my PhD I had already landed myself a permanent teaching job at a university in my city.
